GAC课程概述
GAC，Global Assessment Certificate，又称国际大学预科，是为申请英语国家大学的学生量身定做的大学预科课程。GAC直接大学有110多所，遍布美国、加拿大、英国、爱尔兰、澳大利亚、新加坡、新西兰和墨西哥，很多学校将为本科生提供学分减免和奖学金，美国教育委员会建议1800多所美国大学为GAC课程毕业生提供最高31个学分（相当于一学年的学分）的减免。GAC是唯一将ACT考试定为课程一部分的国际课程，而ACT考试成绩直接关系大学录取的情况。中国大陆学生只有通过GAC课程，才可参加ACT考试。
GAC课程分为三个阶段，层层深入。GAC课程涵盖中国学生在海外求学所必须的各类知识和技能，包括英语、数学、IT、商务和社会科学几大领域，实现国内正式高中授课与国外自主型大学课程的衔接。除此之外，GAC课程还包括了ACT、雅思/托福考试的备考单元，这些都有助于让学生提前适应国外课程，实现顺利过渡。

GAC, Global Assessment Certificate, which is also called the international preparatory course for universities, is well-designed for students who are applying for universities in English-speaking countries. There are over 110 GAC pathway universities, spreading over America, Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand and Mexico. A number of universities will offer credit points and scholarships for an undergraduate degree. ACE suggests over 1800 American universities offering GAC students credit relief, the highest of which may reach 31, equal to the credits of a whole year. The GAC is the only international university preparation program that includes preparation for the ACT Assessment as part of its curriculum, and the result of ACT test is related to the admission of universities directly. Students from Chinese mainland can take the ACT test only when they have taken part in the GAC program.
The GAC course is divided into three parts, getting harder step by step. Covering necessary knowledge and skills of different fields, English, mathematics, IT, science, business and social science are the main subjects to be taught in GAC, which helps connect the domestic courses in high school to the courses of foreign universities which should be learnt independently. ACT Inc, founded in 1959, is an independent, not-for-profit organization that aims at helping people achieve education and workplace success. As one of the foremost providers of educational testing, the ACT Education Solution is responsible for designing the ACT test (American College Test). Each year more than 2,000,000 ACT Assessments are administered worldwide, and the results are used by more than 4,000 US colleges, universities and scholarships programs. Meanwhile, the AES still designs the testing of GMAT, the Graduate Management Admission Test.
Among thousands of universities in America, the top 100 all require to get students’ ACT testing results, and the results are also among the important references of giving scholarships. The total points of ACT is 36, and the test is about five parts, which are English, mathematics, science, reading and writing.
